Neil Thompson joins Keltbray as rail MD

Neil Thompson, formerly construction programme director at Network Rail and commercial director at Crossrail, has been appointed to be managing director for rail at Keltbray.

He will join the specialist engineering contractor immediately and will report to infrastructure managing director Phil Price. There will then be a transition period before current rail boss Martin Brown leaves in September to join Barhale.

Darren James, Keltbray.

Keltbray chief executive officer Darren James commented on the announcement: “I am thrilled that Neil is joining Keltbray at this exciting time for the group.

“Neil brings a wealth of experience and considerable knowledge to Keltbray, from his time at Network Rail in particular, and his appointment will further strengthen our ability to deliver the very best service to our clients.

“I look forward to working with Phil, Neil and the rail team as we progress with the implementation of our strategy for sustained growth. I would also like to thank Martin Brown for his contribution to Keltbray to date and wish him all the very best for the future.”

Neil’s new boss Phil Price added: “I am delighted Neil has chosen to join Keltbray as our new managing director for rail.

“His knowledge of the challenges facing our rail customers, and experience implementing major programmes, will be key to delivering the next phase of the Keltbray strategy.

“I am looking forward to working with Neil to develop solutions which address the carbon reduction and productivity challenges that face our customers.”
