As the UK celebrated the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee – marking 70 years on the throne – the nation’s railways joined in the celebrations with parties and events at stations up and down the country.

Passengers, staff and family were out in force, as were scones, face paint, hats and bunting as the railway celebrated Her Majesty’s long reign.

Her Majesty has been a long-time supporter of the railway, and in recent years has opened rebuilt stations at Reading, Birmingham New Street and, most recently, Paddington’s new low-level station on the Elizabeth line, named after her.

All around the railway network, people said: “God bless you, Your Majesty.”
