Oliver Ross, formerly head of customer experience and loyalty with regional airline Flybe, has joined Network Rail as head of route stations for the Anglia route.
Out of work for almost five months after the airline failed, Oliver is pleased to be back at work and staying in the transport sector. “I’m swapping planes for trains and joining Network Rail in their Anglia division, overseeing exceptional customer service, station strategy and development planning at key stations, including London’s Liverpool Street,” he told Rail Insider.
“It’s a really exciting time to be joining the railway, particularly with Network Rail in the midst of their major transformation of Putting Passengers First.”
Before joining Flybe, Oliver spent time with airlines British Airways, Skywest and Virgin Atlantic. He was also involved in the management side of the airline business, with spells at onboard services specialists Hunt & Palmer, Gate Retail Onboard, IMDC Aviation Consultants and Avios, the leaders in travel rewards.
Will he miss flying all over the globe? “Whilst aviation is in my blood and always will be,” he said, “I can’t wait to take my passenger-centric management skills to Britain’s railways!”
