New Head of Rail at Ramboll


International engineering, design and consultancy company Ramboll has announced that Mike Birch will be its new head of rail in the UK. Mike will move over from Capita Infrastructure to lead Ramboll’s growing portfolio of work in the rail sector, building on its successful bid to be included on the Network Rail design services framework.

Ramboll has also won work on the digital rail programme on the East Coast main line and has a strong portfolio of work on High Speed 2.

Mike has over twenty-seven years of experience in the infrastructure sector covering design, maintenance and management within both private and public sector, with a proven track record in creating and leading large multi-disc teams and delivering business and project solutions from concept through to completion.

Before joining Capita Infrastructure, where he was head of rail, project and cost management, Mike spent thirteen years at Halcrow, CH2M and Jacobs, holding various roles including project delivery director – highways, director of projects, development director – UK north, head of rail – Europe.
